Women in Film Festival runs April 17 to 18
The 5th Annual Women In Film Festival runs from Saturday, April 17 to Sunday, April 18 at Vancouver's Vancity Theatre. A documentary shorts series exploring subjects such as Vancouver's Downtown East Side (Pigeon Park Savings) and local environmental issues (Echo Bay) will screen on Sunday from 2:30 to 4:00 pm. Plus, free filmmaker panels run on both Saturday and Sunday.
Panels: On Saturday, “The Year of Women in Movies?” will be presented by WIFTV sister organization Women in View, which will invite top film professionals to reveal their recipe for making Canada's media culture more gender inclusive. On Sunday, “A Film and Television Industry Market Update; Facing the Hard Facts” will be moderated by award-winning WIDC producer Carol Whiteman, sponsored by CWWA through the support of the CTVglobemedia-CHUM Benefits.
