NFB Toronto offers events and screenings in July
The NFB Mediatheque in Toronto (150 John Street) is offering workshops and screenings for both kids and adults during the month of July. For adults, Green Screens: Homegrown Films, on Wednesday, July 7 at 7 pm, free followed by Adult Animation Workshop: Demystifying the Reel, July 13 at 7 pm, free.

Green Screens: Homegrown Films
July 7 at 7 pm – FREE
This month, our eco-conscious film program explores the importance of sustainable agriculture and celebrates local food practices. Following a screening featuring Yung Chang’s Earth to Mouth, a panel of representatives from Everdale farm, Sustain Ontario and the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation discusses the importance of supporting area farmers. As a special treat, a reception featuring samples of delicious local produce from Karma Co-op awaits moviegoers.
Adult Animation Workshop: Demystifying the Reel
July 13 at 7 pm – FREE
Think kids have all the fun? Bring your vision to life with stop-motion animation, using clay, wire and found objects. A delightful hands-on lesson that’s different every time. No experience required!

What’s Your Tomorrow? Animation Camps
Week-long sessions ending August 20, 9 am to 4:30 pm
These dynamic, hands-on themed classes offer kids 8 to 16 the unique opportunity to explore their creativity and learn stop-motion animation techniques. Brainstorming in teams, they bring their visions of the future to life in their own original films for a big- screen premiere at the NFB Cinema.
July 5 to 9: Session 1 (ages 8 to 14)
